The Cottage at Five Islands

Georgetown, ME

Sharing My Special Getaway.

In 1986, my father Kenneth Joseph Kubicki was generously offered a beautiful ocean side property in Maine by his long time friend Bill Plummer. Kenneth had always loved the ocean. He was the New England representative for Boston Whaler. Kenneth had a vision to turn the original cottage into what we now know as “The Cottage At Five Islands.” With the help of our design/build contractor Glen Stella, Kenneth’s vision became a reality. Using stones sourced from Plymouth Quarries in Hingham, MA the stunning fireplace became the heart of the home. In years to follow, the actual artistic details of the cottage were completed by Kenneth's beloved wife Carol who worked in the design field for over 25 years. Upon the passing of the torch to their daughter Christine Champ in 2013, she was determined to keep the family legacy alive. Herself a designer by trade, Christine has both kept the tradition and thoughtfully modernized the interior design of The Cottage by incorporating the talents of local artisans throughout the Mid Coast of Maine. The Cottage became the treasured family summer get-away and home away from home for three generations. From the ocean breeze to walks on the beach at Ledgemere, from the working harbor below to the breathtaking sunsets, our quaint cottage in Five Islands is the best kept secret on Maine’s Mid Coast.

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a range, convection oven/microwave and coffee pot to make a delicious breakfast before you go out and explore Maine or to prepare a beautiful dinner to end a night of fun. My favorite thing is the fully enclosed screened-in porch with electric grill, and rocking chairs just in view of the ocean and wharf where you can watch one of the most astonishing sunsets Five Islands has to offer. Perhaps you’ll prefer to step outside where two adjoining polywood  Adirondack chairs face the water: perfect for catching some sun and enjoying the scenery or sitting out under the stars.

What Is The Cottage At Five Islands?

I’m Christine and over-time I’ve wanted to share my secret get-away with the world, starting with family and close friends, 20 weeks out of the year. We open up our doors and welcome guests to rent The Cottage so that we can all enjoy a slice of paradise. The fully furnished 900 sq ft Cottage has two bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom and living room. The master bedroom features a queen sized bed, while our guest room houses two twin sized beds. The living space is complete with everything from books, puzzles, and board games to a television with Dish cable and a small movie collection; perfect to relax, unwind and unplug with your loved ones.
